AI Prompting-Copilot: Teaching Tips

Teaching Strategies Across All Modules

  1. Emphasize Concept–Practice Pairing: Each lecture is followed by a 45-minute lab. Reinforce key concepts immediately before the lab begins and link lecture points directly to hands-on tasks.
  2. Encourage Rationale-Based Thinking: Ask students not only how to perform a task, but why the pattern, tool, or approach matters at scale. This reinforces the advanced, enterprise-oriented nature of the course.
  3. Use Realistic Scenarios: Whenever possible, anchor examples in scenarios involving departmental portal architecture, compliance-driven sharing requirements, automation needed to reduce administrative load, and integrations with Power BI, external systems, or custom components.
  4. Anticipate Varying Technical Depth: Some students will have no SPFx or Graph API experience, while others may be developers. Offer differentiated support: (a) provide conceptual overviews for less experienced learners, and (b) offer optional stretch activities for advanced participants.
  5. Reinforce Governance & Sustainability: Across all modules, highlight how decisions affect long-term maintainability, governance compliance, user adoption and change management, and organizational scalability.

These strategies ensure participants think beyond immediate implementation details.
