PowerShell for SQL Server Administrators Courseware (55069AC)

The two-day course is structured into three modules that explore the utilization of PowerShell for installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining SQL Server.

The first module focuses on installing and configuring SQL Server with PowerShell. This encompasses installing SQL Server instances, adding or removing components to an existing instance (such as SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Tools, etc.), configuring SQL Server and database settings, as well as managing SQL Server Policy-Based Management. Upon completion, students will be proficient in setting up and configuring SQL Server using PowerShell.

The second module delves into administering SQL Servers with PowerShell. Key areas covered include managing users and roles, overseeing database performance and availability, and controlling SQL Server features such as Integration Services (SSIS) and Analysis Services (SSAS). By the end of this module, students will have learned how to perform daily administrative tasks on SQL Server instances with PowerShell.

The final module explains how to maintain SQL Server with PowerShell. This includes managing backups and restores, maintaining database integrity and performance through DBCC and other tools, monitoring and auditing changes to a SQL Server instance, automating tasks, and generating SQL Server reports. At the end of this module, students will be adept at performing various maintenance tasks on SQL Server instances using PowerShell.
