This two-day course introduces students to a comprehensive range of Microsoft Power Tools including Power View, PowerPivot, Power Query, Power Map, and Power BI. These tools are used for powerful data analysis and visualization, enabling students to interpret and present complex data in an accessible manner.

The course begins with an introduction to the class structure, a review of the course materials, and details about the prerequisites. This initial phase culips in an exercise where students will log into their virtual machine and become acquainted with the course's aims.

Next, students will learn about Power View, a data visualization tool that allows users to interact with and present data as an interactive visual experience. Students will gain practical experience working with tables, aggregations, matrices, cards, and more. They'll also learn how to apply filters, create charts, add slicers to reports, and utilize themes.

The following module delves into PowerPivot, an add-in for Microsoft Excel that enables users to import millions of rows of data from multiple data sources into a single Excel workbook. In this section, students will learn to create relationships between heterogeneous data, create calculated columns and fields, use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) functions, work with KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), hierarchies, and perspectives.

Power Query, another tool for Excel, allows users to discover, connect, combine, and refine data across a wide variety of sources. The course will cover how to load, filter, merge and manage modifications to data, providing students with a foundation for advanced data manipulation.

In the Power Map section, students will learn how to use this three-dimensional data visualization tool to look at information in new ways. They'll discover how to use Bing Maps as a canvas, examine and interpret map data, and learn how to add time to a presentation.

Finally, the course culminates with an introduction to Power BI, a suite of business analytics tools to analyze data and share insights. Students will learn how to navigate the Power BI interface, utilize various data sources, and understand natural language querying.
